Iceberg – Mushroom

Iceberg is an albino Psilocybe cubensis, an isolation out of the Thai Lipa Yai line from the Lipa Yai region of Thailand. The albinism is a pigment mutation rather than a separate species, and it is what gives the strain both its name and its look. We could not confirm who did the original isolation work or when, so we are not going to attribute it, but the Thai Lipa Yai parentage is consistent across every genetics source we checked.

The name comes from the caps. Iceberg fruits thick and wide, and the caps crack open as they mature into pale plates that look like calving ice. Caps and stems both come in close to white with none of the golden pigment you get on a standard cubensis, and handling brings up the blue bruising that runs through the whole family. Growers rate it as a forgiving strain to work with, which is worth noting, because albino isolations often carry a reputation for being fussy along with the colour.

Genetics libraries and vendors consistently place Iceberg on the potent side of cubensis, but nobody publishes numbers behind that claim and we have not measured this batch, so treat it as a strain to approach carefully rather than a known quantity. Users commonly report bright visual patterning, sharpened introspective focus and heightened emotional awareness, with the experience typically running four to six hours. Iceberg lands alongside Squat Mak in the same August drop and reads as the visual counterpoint to it: pale and wide where Squat Mak is dense and golden. Start low if albino cubensis is new to you.
